- Small Possible Spoiler Warning -

Personality:

Ririchiyo Shirakiin is half-human, half-demon. The throwback of her rich family- the one whose ancestral demon blood runs strongest. Due to this, not only did Ririchiyo become a target for bullying as a child, but her parents neglected her and spent all of their time with her younger sister. You would think that they would have abused her, as well, considering someone being a demon as well as a human is pretty much a walking freak show. However, Ririchiyo, herself, states that her parents (more specifically, her father), have only hit her once. This was because she told them that she was jealous of her little sister- to which her father replies that she does not understand how hard it is for her sister- how she is constantly compared to Ririchiyo. And he cries. It becomes evident to the half n' half that her parents do not care for her- to the point of possibly despising her. Thusly, she does not like to talk about her parents, and if she does, it always sounds like a passive-aggressive insult, or a mildly neutral remark.

As for the bullying- due to her family being rich (which, in turn, is most likely due to her half n' half nature), she was told not to ‘get full of herself’ just because she was rich. That she was plain- boring. This is how she developed a bad habit. She puts up a bold front and verbally abuses others (though in some cases it's not really that harsh) as a self-defense mechanism- though it has gotten to the point of having become a verbal reflex. The development of this bad habit also sparked the development of a tsunshun personality- or, in other words, a personality in which the person acts hostile at first, and then becomes depressed and/or is thrown into a state of depression when alone. She is conscious of these habits and feels a bit, if not tremendous amount of guilt because of it. She will not show it in public, of course. Most of the time.

However, this does not mean she does not try (or has attempted) to make up for these actions. According to her childhood friend, Sorinozuka, she often wrote long, formal apology letters to others as a way of seeking forgiveness for her behavior. Sorinozuka also states that she is extremely honest in her letters, but when confronted about the matter of having sent the apology, she says that '[she] was merely practicing her handwriting’. Although she wants to fix her bad habits, she refuses to properly reflect on her own mistakes.

Ririchiyo has trouble making friends because of her family name and her natural haughtiness, yet desperately wants to communicate with others and make friends. At the same time, she yearns to be independent, which is one of her reasons she moved to the Ayakashi Mansion, as well as to be alone so she could not hurt others (despite the fact this backfired big time. not that she minds.) She is also kind of sort of naive in some aspects- particularly those of love. She knows nothing about it. Zilch. Nada. When her heartbeat sped up when thinking of a certain SS agent, she just assumed it was a case of an 'irregular heartbeat', and has assumed this ever since.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

- Bad habit of putting up a bold front
- Verbally abuses others
- Self-conscious
- Inability to communicate with other people properly
- Emotion can overpower her rational side, and can cause her to lash out without thinking of the consequences. The difference of this from her bold front is that it’s not intentional.

- / + Wants to be alone, and at the same time, does not. (conflicted)
-/+ Used to stalkers and kidnappers, so she does not panic easily in those kind of situations. She goes with the flow and waits to be rescued- if not, she does the rescuing herself.

+ Very calm & collected due to her bold front.
+ Actually cares for other people’s well-being. Most of the time. At least, deep down, she does.
+ Studious; she researches things thoroughly before deciding on them.
+ Very formal in her letters.
+ Very honest in her letters, too.

Third Person Sample:

Ririchiyo Shirakiin understood her situation perfectly. She had been kidnapped, and that stupid SS of hers hadn’t kept his promise in protecting her, hadn't he? It must have been in her sleep- he must have been asleep, too. It was the only explanation for that. And, quite frankly, she didn’t mind. She was used to stalkers and kidnappers alike- the dog would realize she was missing, and he’d come rescue her. Not that she couldn’t fend for her own, it’s just that… well, she had actually listened to the explanation of what was going on, you know. She had listened to the ‘Welcome to the world of Pokemon!’ speech, and has clearly understood her position in the matter, besides hostage. She was a Trainer, whom were known to train the monsters they had been paired up with and take on the Gym Challenge. So…

“Why couldn’t they make you a little more ferocious?” She was kneeling down in front of a blue penguin with a tiny yellow beak, who apparently took offense to this. “Piplup!! Piplup pip--!! Lup!!” He turned away from his new trainer. Wow, rude! How could she not consider him ferocious?

Shirakiin raised an eyebrow as the penguin screamed out it’s species name, Piplup, over and over again. “So I take it your name is Piplup, huh? Well, not that it matters, but I guess it’s only natural to be angry when you look like an adorable penguin instead of a fearsome beast. Sadly, I don’t have the time to stay around and worry about your appearance issues.” The girl stood up and made her way out of New Bark town, pack already in hand by this time. “Pi… Pip?! Pipluuup!!” Surprised that it’s Trainer would actually leave it there, he hurriedly followed, bumping into her leg. She looked down-

… “Pihihihipluuuuuuup…!” Why was it…doing that… It looked like…it…was crying…

“I knew it—I haven’t changed at all. I can’t even communicate with an animal…” She placed her hands on a nearby tree and hung her head, stumbling into a state of depression as she continued on her way to Cherrygrove, a now confused Piplup attempting to cheer his Trainer up.

After a while of walking, Ririchiyo looked down at her new ‘friend’ and decided that she should inform him of something. A curious, yet confused gaze is what she received for her sudden stop and stare, and the fifteen year old took a deep breath and spoke.

“I’ll tell you this, because I have a feeling we will be together for a long time.

I put up a bold front and verbally abuse others. These are my vices.” She crossed her arms, “Are you willing to put up with these two vices of mine? If not, you should just leave now. Before I can hurt you.”

Piplup was quiet for a while. Vices? Abuse? Hurt?

He burst out laughing, causing Riri to become flustered. “I— this is a serious problem that I am trying to fix.” Piplup shook his head. He didn’t care! This was his new Trainer, and she was the only one he could depend on—he had to stick with her! He gave her a ‘sagely’ nod of approval to show his consent, and she sighed and rubbed her temples.

“…This is going to be a long journey, won’t it?” Piplup gave a nod and laughed, climbing onto Ririchiyo’s shoulder. Yes, it would be long. But at least it would be fun!

First Person Sample:

[ The camera waddled over to a black haired girl with a rather serious expression. She was short for her age, and still had on the clothes she wore back in her world, but did not seem to have any questions on the recent developments of her new life, or to panic at the fact she was away from home. Actually, she seemed to understand that. Instead, she has a message to deliver, but she has to kneel down so Piplup can stop stretching his tiny little arms so you can see her, before she can do that. ]

…Hello, I’m Ririchiyo Shirakiin, but I’m sure you all know that. [ Kidnappers. ]

I don’t think I need to ask about where we are and how- it’s obvious no one knows. All I need is a way out, so provide me with that and we’re through. [ With that, Shirakiin cuts the feed off and pockets the ‘gear. ]

…I did it again, didn’t I? [ Piplup nods solemnly. ] Piiip…
I can always try again, can’t I? [ Piplup nods and watches his Trainer take out her PokeGear. She seems to be sending a text to everyone, now. ]

I apologize for my previous rudeness, for I was acting out in a very rude manner and should not have done so. I would just like to be informed of a way back to the Ayakashi Mansion, despite the most probable situation being that I was kidnapped, and thus will most likely not receive help. But it is always a good thing to attempt to do so.

Sincerest Apologies, Ririchiyo Shirakiin.
